Hira Aur Patthar is a 1977 Hindi drama starring Shashi Kapoor, Shabana Azmi. Shankar loses his faith in God when his mother doesn't recover from a fire that was set by a cruel and greedy zamindar, Vikram Singh. He takes Shankar's father's and uncle's land. They both now carry pilgrims up to the temple on a doli. But Shankar refuses to visit the temple even when he grows up. He meets Gauri and starts climbing the temple steps daily to meet her. Shankar's life is in danger. Who wants to kill him?
